Impax and Teva settle suit with over generic ADHD drug

Impax Pharmaceuticals Inc. and partner Teva Pharmaceuticals USA Inc. settled litigation over a generic ADHD drug copied from one that belongs to Johnson & Johnson Inc. Hayward-based Impax (NASDAQ: IPXL) has a deal with Israel's Teva (NYSE: TEVA) to make a generic copy of Concerta, or methylphenidate hydrochloride extended release tablets. Teva Pharmaceuticals USA is based outside Philadelphia and also makes generic drugs. The two companies did not give details of their settlement with the two Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ) units, Janssen Pharmaceuticals Inc. and Alza Corp.

Impax sued over generic version of ADHD drug Concerta

Alza Corp. is suing Impax Laboratories Inc. for patent infringement for the Hayward company’s generic version of blockbuster attention deficit hyperactivity disorder Concerta.
Concerta extended-release tablets, ranging from 18 milligrams to 54 milligrams, registered sales of $1.4 billion in the 12 months ended in February.

Impax sued by Alza over ADHD drug

Generic drugmaker Impax Laboratories Inc. has been sued by Alza Corp. over a drug aimed at Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
Hayward-based Impax (NASDAQ: IPXL) wants to make a generic copy of the drug Concerta, or methylphenidate hydrochloride, in extended release 54 mg tablets. It’s working on the drug with Teva Pharmaceuticals and has applied with the Food and Drug Administration for the product.
